i had the recent joy of getting to develop a course for my alma mater, belmont university, entitled “the art of songwriting.” the course covers tips for creativity, building a career as a songwriter, & the technical & ethical components of songwriting. esteemed guests include GRAMMY-winning songwriter/producers like shane mcanally, allen shamblin, & alysa vanderheym, industry titans like cris lacy (co-CEO, warner music nashville) & ben vaughn (CEO, warner/chappell music), & music industry mental health experts beth barcus & chad karger (porter’s call). a link to the course can be found here.
